Blockchain Foundry (BCFN.C) launched their public beta version of Metacademy.com, which platform that teaches users about blockchain, crypto, NFTs, smart contracts, Web3, and more.
This is a useful addition because it can provide folks who are high on curiosity but not necessarily in know-how with the tools required to make the leap into the blockchain ecosystem. One of the largest roadblocks to adoption is that the technology is new and not particularly user friendly. There are a lot of different moving parts and sometimes it can be hard to parse.
“We created Metacademy to provide our clients with a hands-on Web3 educational platform that is always up-to-date. Together with our friends at Blockchain Foundry, we’ve designed a simple, free to use, risk free platform that will help you and your team sharpen your Web3 skills – and keep them sharp,” said Metacademy co-founder, Shelly Palmer.
Blockchain Foundry is involved in the development and commercialization of blockchain-based business and consumer solutions. They have a focus on digital asset infrastructure and non-fungible tokens. They also provide blockchain consulting services to corporate clients.
The new platform is going to be offered for free, and is also risk free because it gives users the opportunity to interact with the site using testnet cryptocurrency, which was designed specifically for risk-free educational purposes and costs nothing.
Basically this is a use case for Web 3.0, and a circumstance where you can learn-to-earn. The metacademy is meant to be easy to use, educational as well as fun and rewarding. As users finish each section they’re rewarded with badges and NFT that can be redeemed outside the program.
Here’s what Metacademy offers:
- Set up a crypto wallet
- How to mint, buy and sell NFT
- Learn the differences between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0
- How to interact with the metaverse and understand its tech
- How to collect and use decentralized data
The company is also going to be adding courses covering such specifics as decentralized identity, tokenomics, decentralized autonomous organizations.
When all the courses are complete, Metacademy will even offer users the ability to complete a certification to earn an NFT-wrapped Verifiable Credential. It provides a fraud-proof blockchain backed and Web 3.0 enabled professional certification. Presumably employers looking for domain experts in these fields will see this new addition as indications that they know what they know.
It’s still early stages yet, though. As with most things blockchain related, it’s still a big maybe.
