Predictmedix (PMED.C) announced that their Safe Entry Stations units will be used at the North American tour of Hockeyfest.
Hockeyfest is the world’s largest street and pond hockey festival, and last year they saw a record number of participants in London, ON, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Hockeyfest will begin on June 25 in London, ON, and end in Winnipeg on August 29, visiting 9 cities during its run, including two US locations.
Predictmedix will be partnering with the Jones Entertainment Group, who run Hockeyfest, and Juiceworks Exhibits, who Predictmedix previously partnered with for a Super Bowl party in Tampa Bay, Florida, back in February. Although images of that party did draw some criticism, the Safe Entry Station was able to catch a case of COVID-19 among a would-be party-goer and prevent him from infecting others.

Predictmedix’s Safe Entry Stations use a proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm, allowing them to offer an easy and non-invasive screening solution for infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. The stations combine their AI with multispectral cameras to scan people as they come through, and either get a green light, allowing them to enter, or a red light, requiring further action.
Today’s announcement comes a few days after the beginning of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, with Canadian teams set to begin their quest for the cup on Wednesday. Hockey is on people’s minds, and given many people had their usual Winter hockey league cancelled due to coronavirus, many people are likely looking forward to the opportunity to compete in Hockeyfest’s road hockey tournament.
