Interactive Games (BETS.C) Signs New Cricketers Ahead of IPL Season Opener

Interactive Games Technologies (BETS.C) has signed four new cricketers to their BLITZPOOLS ‘team’ as the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin tomorrow.

IGT.BET has recruited Shardul Thakur, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan and Mohammed Shami as part of their effort to get IPL fans to use their fantasy sports game BLITZPOOLS.

The IPL begins tomorrow and will go on until May 30, 2021, despite COVID 19 cases rising in India with lockdowns likely on the way.

BLITZPOOLS is a fantasy sports competition in which players can exchange accumulated coins for real-life prizes, such as meet & greet sessions or tickets to games.

People in North America often underestimate the popularity of cricket, but it is worth pointing out that it is the second most popular sport in the world. Nearly half of the people in India watched the IPL at some point, bringing their total viewership over 400 million.

With many people stuck inside due to COVID 19 in India, it could be the perfect storm for BLITZPOOLS to create an active user base. Interactive Games has been celebrating their success in recruiting new users, even while the market has largely disagreed and their share price has fallen.

The short but intense IPL season means BLITZPOOLS will be able to see if their strategy has worked very quickly but will have less time to adjust if things do not pan out the way they hope.
