Psyched Wellness (PSYC.C) has signed an additional agreement with its contract research organization partner, KGK Science, to further study the anti inflammatory nature of AME-1.
“This is a key first step in the health and wellness studies of AME-1, which lay the groundwork for future preclinical research,” said Brian Tancowny, scientific advisor to Psyched Wellness.
Not much to cover here, folks. However, in the grand scheme of things, the success of Psyched Wellness’ study could prove hugely beneficial for the Company. KGK Science will be leading the pre-clinical trials for Psyched Wellness. The agreement between the two is intended to further advance the preliminary findings which revealed the anti-inflammatory nature of the AME-1 extract from the Amanita Muscaria mushroom. Its name may not ring any bells, but Amanita Muscaria is one of the most frequently depicted mushrooms is popular culture. For example, Toad’s head (or is it his hat…) from Super Mario closely resembles the fungus.
Under normal circumstances, the Amanita Muscaria mushroom is not the kind of fungus you want to mess around with. Toad always did give off a sinister vibe. The effects incurred by ingesting Amanita Muscaria can include hallucinations, nausea, twitching, and even delirium in serious cases. On the contrary, effects like drowsiness and relaxation are also common, but ingesting this particular fungus sounds like a pretty bad time in general. However, Psyched Wellness hopes to explore the anti-inflammatory nature of the AME-1 extract with a particular focus on gut health. Damaged gut health can lead to inflammation which then promotes the impairment of barrier functions in the digestive tract. With this in mind, the study will attempt to demonstrate activities that enhance digestive barrier function and immunity via AME-1 extract.
According to Euromonitor International, almost one-quarter of consumers globally suffer from lower digestive health issues. Moreover, in half of those cases, consumers claimed that this had a moderate and sometimes even severe impact on their overall health. Gut health is undoubtedly an issue existing on a global scale. Fortune Business Insights predicts that the digestive health market could reach $71.95 billion by 2027 as gut health awareness continues to increase. Hell, even I have seen advertisement for gut health products on my social media!
Regardless, a successful study of Psyched Wellness’ AME-1 extract could put the Company in a great position to lead the gut health market. Psyched Wellness recently applied for a provisional patent application for its AME-1 extract. Upon acquiring a patent, the Company will have even greater potential for future products. Depending on the results of its study and the approval of its patent, Psyched Wellness could see some growth in the near future. Being a relatively low risk investment, keeping an eye on Psyched Wellness may be worthwhile.
Psyched Wellness’ stock price opened at $0.29 and has not seen any significant changes. The stock price currently sits at $0.285.
