The Core Story: West High Yield Resources (WHY.V) has taken 20 years to be next in line

Part of what makes investing in mining explorers interesting is, you never know when your horse is running.

You can trot down to fraser Downs and place a bet on a horse and, when the gates open, it’ll be off and running. Win or lose, at least you know there’s going to be a result.

The same goes for every sport, every casino game, every dice roll, every boring ass game of Monopoly. Only in test cricket and mining might you spend days waiting, only to not get a result.

West High Yield has been in the Marasco family for nigh twenty years, and in all the time, Frank Marasco’s been waiting for the game to begin.

This year it finally did, and his stock jumped by more than a double the moment we pointed it out.

Through the summer, West High Yield has been talking to people. To First Nations folks, to the government, to nearby city officials, to neighbours, and to financiers. And it would appear that all of those discussions have gone well.  To hear Frank talk about it, boy howdy, the wheels are starting to turn.

There were problems and delays – let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The local townsfolk were worried about big mining trucks rolling through town and tearing up the roads, so Frank decided to build a road out the backway, straight to the highway, bypassing the town altogether. Then there were indigenous locals to consult, which can sometimes take a while. But Frank’s a straight talking guy, a true interior type, and his attitude to the First Nations has been to invite them in, to come on board, work with the company, get trained, take jobs, and be part of the process, rather than to ride roughshod. Those relationships have been fruitful.

And then there’s the government, the last hurdle to cross before things really get interesting. Marasco can’t put a date on when those Ts will be crossed, but is quietly confident the day is nigh – confident enough that he’s in the market for financing.

We’re proud to say we were part of the process in getting WHY enough attention that it could jump to highs, and we continue to point to it as a company we think is likely to ascend.

The core metal involved is magnesium, of which there’s plenty of demand and not all that much supply. What else does West High Yield present?

Here’s the Core Story.

Here’s more!
