BC Bud Corp (BCBC.C) doubles product line in BC stores, close to break even

Cannabis companies are a hard sell to Canadian investors, after years of some of the most irresponsible pubco management making that sector taboo, but there are still good targets in the space with great profit potential – if you know where to look.

Generally speaking, responsible weed investors need to look for three things:

  1. Can the company conceivably be profitable in the next year? That’s all the big boys gone before we even start.
  2. Are its products growing in sales, availability, and market share? Again, ex out all the big players here and a lot of the little guys.
  3. Are the people running the show folks who have good reputations with strong exits in previous companies? Frankly, that’s everyone knocked off the list.

Well.. everyone but one company.

Because there isn’t a publicly listed weed company in Canada that is run by people with a single profitable exit on their record, let alone several.

EXCEPT BC BUD CORP (BCBC.C).

As I’ve noted before, CEO Brayden Sutton, heavy investor MArc Lustig, and President Josh Taylor have all got successful cannabis growth companies under their belts with high profile exits that total over a billion dollars to date, so this little start-up is not only notable because of the smart BC branding, but because they’re literally bringing together three of the FEW cannabis success stories in Canada – period.

On the product front, prepare your palates, cannabis connoisseurs of British Columbia. The B.C. Bud Corp. is doubling the number of their products hitting the shelves of BC Cannabis Stores, and they’re doing so with some of their most esteemed products. Three exclusive offerings – the Mosambi live hash rosin vape cart, Mosambi live hash rosin budder, and Narang Tang live hash rosin budder – are primed to pique the interest of customers at select outlets going forward. Operated by the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch, BC Cannabis Stores are a large chain of retail destinations, with 36 physical locations and an online store to cater to the needs of the law-abiding cannais enthusiast.

The President of B.C. Bud, Josh Taylor, is revelling in the thrill of the expansion and states, “This is a fantastic chance for us to showcase our premium offerings to a broader customer base. Our ambition is to create an unparalleled experience for BC Cannabis Stores’ customers, steeped in the top-notch quality B.C. Bud is celebrated for.”

The BC-based cannabis connoisseurs have been on a product-launching spree, introducing six total items in their home province so far, along with products in multiple other Canadian provinces including Manitoba, Ontario, and Alberta.

The list boasts two live hash rosin budders, a pair of live hash-rosin-infused BCBC flower PR strains, a Mosambi live hash rosin vape cart, and an Alaskan Thunder F (ATF) two-piece one-gram preroll flower SKU.

Vancouver Island’s Cedar Organics, renowned for their outdoor trichome cultivation, and Common Roots Extracts, a satellite venture of one of the world’s largest botanical extraction behemoths, Synthite Industries, have joined forces with B.C. Bud. Together, they’re on a mission to conjure a comprehensive array of both solvent and solvent-free live concentrate products and formulations. These will be prepared for prompt delivery and provincial distribution, ensuring that the unique pleasures of B.C. Bud’s catalogue can be enjoyed far and wide.

Finally, one of the reasons we really like BC Bud, beside the talent on their roster, the high margin business model, and the products themselves, is trhe fact they’re so close to break even. The last quarterly financials showed a net loss of only $149,000, which is so close to the line as to be painful. I’d like to see revenue climbing, but new products tend to be just about the only way for that to happen in the hyper regulated ‘no marketing’ legal framework in Canada.

I’d be surprised if they can’t close that gap pretty quickly, which will expose the company to a whole new load of investors, being the ‘talk to me when you’re in the green’ crowd.

Me? I’m snapping up cheap stock now.
