48North Cannabis (NRTH.V) has joined forces with cannabis accessory distributor Humble and Fume to supply the legal cannabis vaporizer market. The combined company will form Fume Labs, which will build on the success of previously announced extraction partnership and outdoor supply agreement between the two companies.
The benefits will flow both ways, including extraction expertise, access to high quality and low-cost cannabis biomass, access to distribution and sales channels, each of which are expected to provide operational cost savings.
Fume Labs will service this strategic partnership in several mutually advantageous ways, including, but not limited to:
- the manufacturing of 48North’s and humble+fume branded cannabis products, specializing in the concentrate extraction and refinement, formulation and filling, and packaging and distribution of vaporizer products;
- the contract manufacturing of cannabis products for other Licensed Producers and cannabis brands;
- Fume Labs will leverage humble+fume’s extensive nationwide sales and distribution network, and act as the sales agency for products produced at the Facility;
- Fume Labs will be a natural partner for 48North’s Good:Farm, one of Canada’s lowest-cost cannabis cultivation facilities located 10-minutes away from the Facility. To that end, Fume Labs will purchase 48North cannabis biomass, subject to certain conditions.
The two companies are going to share the expenses and therefore be entitled to an equitable percentage of the net revenue from any vaporizer product finished at the facility. 48North will take on responsibilities of manufacturing, packaging, marketing and promotion and sales for products from Fume Labs. Fume Labs will operate out of 48North’s processing and propagation facility “Good:House” in Brantford, Ontario.
48North also announces that they have secured product listings for vaporizers in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick, giving them distribution in seven out of 10 provinces, and access to 95% of the population.
48North gets Thoughtfull
Earlier this month 48North entered into a curation partnership with online gifting platform, Thoughtfull, which is a creation of Indigo Books and Music.
Sometimes it’s hard finding a thoughtful gift, and that’s why Thoughtfull’s platform makes sense. 48North’s responsibility as the platform’s exclusive cannabis partner will be in providing cannabis-related accessories for the Thoughtfull platform. The company will use its consumer brand and industry relationships to curate an array of premium cannabis accessories.
“Partnering with brands is critical to breaking down the stigma around cannabis. 48North applauds Thoughtfull for embracing the Canadian cannabis industry. Robust distribution is of paramount importance to the success of 48North and this partnership will be responsible for introducing Canadian adults to the 48North brand. Partnering with companies like Thoughtfull is critical to our long-term goal of becoming Canada’s most beloved and accessible cannabis brand,” said Kirsten Gauthier, chief marketing officer of 48North.
At launch, 48North’s accessories line F8 and recently announced female-friendly cannabis accessories brand, Sackville & Co., will be available on the Thoughtfull site.
“At Thoughtfull, our aim is to make selecting a gift easy and meaningful by providing Canadians with unique products curated to their interests, We’re excited to be collaborating with 48North to offer an assortment of high-quality cannabis accessories for gifting. Their commitment to authenticity, sustainability and education made the partnership a natural fit,” said Conner MacLeod, head of curation for Thoughtfull.
