Lancaster Resources Utilizes MT Survey at Alkali Flat: Aiming for Precision in Identifying Lithium-Drilling Targets

LANCASTER RESOURCES INC. (LCR.C) advances into a new phase of exploration at the Alkali Flat lithium project, partnering with KLM Geophysics for the implementation of an innovative magnetotelluric (MT) geophysics program. Situated near Lordsburg, N.M., United States, the Alkali Flat project is now at the forefront of precise lithium exploration.

Targeting Conductive Stratigraphic Units

The MT program at Alkali Flat focuses on highly conductive stratigraphic units to delineate drill targets in a particularly promising area on the NE part of the property. KLM Geophysics commenced the survey, aiming to utilize natural electromagnetic occurrences, such as solar flares and lightning, to gauge magnetic and electric field variations. This targeted approach seeks to identify the unique characteristics of lithium brine reservoirs.

Combination with Previous Findings

The survey results are anticipated within the next few weeks, guiding Lancaster’s management in pinpointing clear drilling targets. By integrating the MT survey with previous geochemical and conductivity data, Lancaster aims to sharpen its focus on the discovery of lithium-saturated aquifers.

Strategic Location and Environmental Commitment

Positioned just 8 miles north of the famous Lightning Dock Known Geothermal Resource Area (KGRA) and adjacent to Arizona Lithium’s Lordsburg Brine Project, the Alkali Flat Lithium Project benefits from significant geological insight. The region’s geology has been pivotal for Lancaster’s strategic planning.

In line with Lancaster’s strong environmental ethos, the MT survey is designed to be non-invasive, ensuring a minimal carbon footprint. This echoes the company’s commitment to greener exploratory techniques.

Detailed Planning and KLM Geophysics

The MT survey will be comprised of three east-west alignments with approximately 500m spacing, with 15 receiver stations in total. Each site will be active overnight, capturing data for 14-16 hours. The resulting comprehensive subsurface conductivity model is expected to refine drilling targets for late 2023.
