Standard Uranium’s (STND.V) CEO, Jon Bey, and VP of Exploration, Sean Hillacre, were at the company’s Sun Dog uranium project in Northern Saskatchewan at the end of February preparing for Standard’s winter drill program at Sun Dog.
Standard’s management is hands-on, literally, which sets the junior uranium explorer apart from companies whose execs are more desk jockeys than serious miners. In the following video, both Bey and Hillacre, update Standard’s exploration progress at Sun Dog as well as familiarize the audience with how infrastructure like ice roads are certified for travel.
Now that Standard’s winter drill program is under way, there will be two diamond drills testing high-priority target areas on the project as a follow up to known uranium mineralization in addition to prospective alteration and structure intersected during the company’s winter 2022 drill program at Sun Dog.
The diamond drills will be put to use in the Java Target Area at the north-west end of Johnston Island where individual grab samples from the surface returned results as high as 12.4% U3O8. Drilling will also occur in the Johnston-Bay Target Area which links the Java and Haven target areas where a winter 2022 drill hole intersect elevated radioactivity up to 300 cps within a graphitic metapelite.
Haven Target Area will also be under the drill where during 2022 field mapping and prospecting came back with scintillometer readings greater than 10,000 cps and locally off-scale (>65,535 cps).
Skye Target Area rounds of the list for drilling in the 2023 winter program at Sun Dog. Skye is at the sound end of Stewart Island encompassing the historical Stewart Island mineralized zone in addition to the un-tested conductive rocks to the west.
Equity Guru’s Fabi Lara sat down with Sean Hillacre in the middle of December 2022 to get a closer look at the company, its projects and as well as an update on its exploration efforts.
Chris Parry, Equity Guru founder, outlined what he thought were the high points in Standard Uranium’s valuation story a few weeks ago and suggested that the company was a hidden long-term investment gem.
Standard Uranium traded at $0.07 CAD per share during trading on March 3, 2o23 for a market cap of $12.75 million.
