Tiidal Gaming Group Corp. (TIDL.C), a leading esports and gaming platform, announced today that Sportsflare has signed a partnership with Skirmish Limited (“Skrmiish”). For context, Sportsflare represents Tiidal’s wholly-owned technology division, dedicated to creating new betting experiences with technology in the esports market.
“We are excited to partner with Skrmiish, the world’s first app-driven community gaming platform that enables users to monetize their gaming experience,” said Max Polaczuk, Chief Technology Officer of Tiidal Gaming.
With this in mind, Sportsflare has combined Artificial Intelligence (AI), esports betting, software, and finance, to create a suite of products, including Bet Builder, Micromarkets, Bet-on-Yourself, and Esports Odds. Additionally, the company is credited for introducing the first public esports dataset for machine learning research, which has been cited by the likes of Amazon and Zillow.
Furthermore, prior to launching Sportflare, the company ran a business-to-consumer (B2C) affiliate brand for esports betting. Needless to say, Sportsflare has both the products and experience needed to succeed in the rapidly advancing esports betting market, which is expected to exceed USD$205 billion by 2027.
Skrmiish Throws On the Gloves
Launched globally in January 2021, Skrmiish is the first gaming app that enables gamers, streamers, teams, and brands to collaborate, compete, and monetize their gaming experiences. The app features support for two big-name games, namely Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. While I suck at both, Fortnite and Warzone have established themselves as two of the most popular battle royale games, just behind Apex Legends.
Cumulatively, Fortnite has raked in 18.37 million viewer hours, while fans of Warzone have streamed a total of 9.35 million hours. In terms of Fortnite’s player count, there are between 3-4 million active players in the game concurrently across all platforms, including Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile. As for Warzone, the game’s player count has dropped a tad, however, in April 2021, the game boasted over 100 million active players.
Take a Picture, It’ll Last Longer
The Skrmiish app utilizes various leaderboards, with each leaderboard offering its own unique rewards. Furthermore, each leaderboard on Skrmiish comes with its own matchmaking, allowing players to choose their ideal game mode, team size, and LP amount to bet before searching for a match.
For context, LP refers to a freely earnable currency available through Skrmiish. Every player starts with 50 LP when they join a leaderboard, however, players are able to earn more via matches. It is worth noting that users are only able to join a single leaderboard at a time, however, users may also switch leaderboards at any time.
With this in mind, leaderboards are ranked by the amount of LP players have. That being said, a user’s LP is unique to each leaderboard. For example, if a player has 60 LP on one leaderboard, they will not have 60 LP on a different leaderboard. However, a player’s LP can never drop below 10 LP, meaning that there’s always something to bet with.
At the end of a match, players are required to declare if they won or lost, with winners having to take a picture via the Skrmiish app as evidence. This picture is then automatically verified by the company’s AI or a staff member if necessary. After securing placement on a Skrmiish leaderboard, players receive payment via PayPal, with payments taking 7 days to process on average.
Partnership Details
Available on Android and iOS devices, the Skrmiish app has amassed over 80,000 downloads to date, with more than 3,000,000 LP staked. Moreover, the app also accepts fiat and cryptocurrency payments for wagering. Through Tiidal’s latest partnership, Skrmiish will integrate Sportsflare’s Bet-On-Yourself (BoY) infrastructure, which includes account verification, pricing, risk management, settlement, and match data solutions.
“By providing them with our Bet-on-Yourself solution, the Skrmiish app will offer an immersive experience for players to wager on PVE outcomes. Overall, this partnership allows us to expand our product reach to a wider audience of esports bettors and we look forward to commencing the deployment of our technology offering for Skrmiish on popular esports games,” continued Max Polaczuk.
For context, Sportsflare’s BoY is a massively scalable data, pricing, and risk management service. In addition to 24/7 on-demand betting, BoY offers cross-platform betting. As the name implies, BoY lets users bet on themselves for select objectives. For example, since I can’t win a game of Fortnite to save my life, I could bet that I will have over 10 kills in a single match instead. I bet I couldn’t even do that.
Interestingly, BoY also offers hyper-optimized risk management and pricing models that adapt as a player plays more matches, to offer the best odds possible. Currently, BoY supports integration for Fortnite and Warzone, with Fortnite accounting for 90% of bets placed on the platform.
These features will be integrated into Skrmiish’s platform to offer player versus environment (PVE) skill-based gaming to its users. The start of this collaboration will be marked by an initial rollout for Fortnite. Looking forward, Skrmiish intends to integrate Sportsflare’s technology offering into other popular esports titles. As for Tiidal, Sportsflare will receive a share of Skrmiish’s gross gaming revenue for bets placed using the Company’s BoY platform.
Tiidal’s share price opened at $0.17 today. The Company’s shares were up 11.76% and were trading at $0.19 as of 11:21 AM EST.
