GameOn Entertainment Technologies’ (GET.C) Cricket Predictor Achieves Two Million Predictions in Three Weeks

GameOn Entertainment Technologies Inc. (GET.C) announced today that the MX Cricket Predictor, powered by GameOn, has surpassed 2 million predictions since the T20 Cricket World Cup went live on October 23, 2021.

“We’re thrilled with the performance of our proprietary game engine for MX Player…Engagement is the bread-and-butter of the value we provide our B2B partners, which we’re fully aligned on with our license and revenue share agreements,” said Matt Bailey, GameOn CEO.

The free-to-play prediction games are launched in conjunction with the Indian entertainment super app MX Player, which licenses GameOn’s technology. For context, MX Player is an Indian video streaming and video on demand platform developed by MX Media & Entertainment. The platform operates on an ad-supported model and has a streaming library of more than 150,000 hours across 12 languages.

MX Player recently announced on October 12, 2021, that it has surpassed 1 billion downloads, making it one of the few high-profile apps to achieve this milestone. In addition to India, MX Player has also expanded to several international markets, including Bangladesh, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

With this in mind, on June 17, 2021, GameOn announced that it had entered into a partnership with MX Player to introduce cricket prediction games for mobile, thus the MX Cricket Predictor was born. Through this app, fans are able to move up the leaderboard by correctly predicting events, like who will win and how many runs will be scored.

The MX Cricket Predictor launched for the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup and will remain live for the year-round cricket calendar, including Indian internationals, Australia’s Big Bash tournament, and the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2022. It is worth noting that the ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup is one of the most-watched sporting events in the world. In fact, the 2019 Cricket World Cup set a new record for viewership, achieving 2.6 billion viewers, making it the most-watched cricket event of all time.

GameOn and MX Player recently confirmed an expanded partnership with three additional licensed games for soccer, tennis, and kabaddi, slated for a 2022 release. All games will release and go live within the MX Player app, powered by GameOn’s white-label game engine. With this in mind, GameOn will earn revenue share on all games. Looking forward, MX Cricket Predictor is on track for six million predictions and 200,000 active users by January 2022.
