PlantFuel Life (FUEL.C) and One Tree Planted have teamed up to plant 50,000 trees for landscape restoration in 2021 and for an added bonus, they stated that for every purchase of a PlantFuel product, One Tree Planted will plant a tree, according to a press release.
The view from my home office/prison cell is trees as far as the eye can see. Cracking open the window one can almost smell the pine sap and get pecked in the face by a nearby crow, suddenly angry at having its reverie disturbed. Conifers wave at me from between houses, waving at me, and one leans precariously, looming over a neighbour’s house like it could topple at any minute.
We don’t lack for trees here in B.C.
It’s wildfire season up north. There’s presently 212 fires raging, 24 of which are believed to be caused by lightning and two by human stupidity. It’s mother nature’s way of replenishing the soil. Tree grows, mother nature takes umbrage with its pluck and zaps it. Fire starts. Tree burns down to ashes, and ashes return nutrients to the soil. Tree grows. Cue Elton John’s circle of life montage.

The sheer amount of trees in B.C., though, can lead to a certain sort of blindness. We don’t think beyond our back door and realize that while deforestation might not be a threat to us on a local level, it’s still a global problem.

Their projects are global and done with the aid of partnerships with local communities and experts to create an impact for nature, people and wildlife.
Planting trees is one of the best ways to combat climate change. Trees clean the air, filter the water, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s land-based biodiversity. They also provide tons of jobs to over 1.6 billion people, including women in underdeveloped nations, and support communities damaged by environmental damage.
The objectives of this new partnership include:
- Supporting global reforestation efforts
- Empowering consumers with sustainable actions
- Raising awareness about the importance of ecosystem restoration
The partnership is designed to make it easy for their customers to get involved in global reforestation without the nasty parts of getting your hands dirty. For every item PlantFuel unloads from their inventory, the company will give $1 to One Tree Planted to get a tree into the ground. The trees are planted by local partners and community volunteers and generally where there’s a need for trees due to deforestation.
