Koios Beverage’s (KBEV.C) Koios and Fit Soda beverage offerings will now be represented in 20 U.S. states by Green Spoon Sales, which is one of the largest natural food brokers in the country, according to a press release.
The company is banking on Green Spoon’s expanded reach being the catalyst for the nationwide expansion of their retail footprint in the functional beverages category.
“Commercializing functional beverage products such as ours relies heavily upon building a memorable and compelling first impression among potential first-time users who encounter the product in-store. The size of a distributor or broker’s network is important, but market share is something that is ultimately gained at the store level. As such, we consider Green Spoon’s ‘boots on the ground’ in 20 U.S. states to be an important part of their value proposition as we seek to build brand recognition for Koios Beverages, prompt trials, and encourage repeat purchases,” said Chris Miller, chief executive officer for Koios.
Green Spoon has a sales team of approximately 40 workers dedicated to getting Koios drinks on shelves beside natural food and beverage products. Green Spoon can introduce the company’s beverages to well-known chains, including locations of Whole Foods Market and Sprouts Farmers Market.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Koios is a producer of functional beverages with a host of secondary side effects, such as improvement to focus and mental clarity and other such health benefits. They’re sold in over 4,400 retail stores in the United States, as well as on Amazon and Walmart’s U.S online store. Koios also operates its own e-commerce portal, which services more than 60,000 customers and subscribers. Now that they’re represented by Green Spoon, they intend to expand their reach across the nation by entering new markets across the United States.
