Versus Systems (VS.C) brings in-app rewards to the global wellness market

Versus Systems (VS.C) partnered with ePlay Digital to integrate their in-app rewards tech with ePlay’s health and wellness applications and platforms, according to a press release.

The ePlay addition helps Versus expansion into the global wellness market, which has a value at over $4 trillion, according to the Global Wellness Institute. ePlay’s portfolio of health, wellness and personal improvement apps adds sufficient value to Versus’ content offerings for their partners in video content platforms and lifestyle mobile applications.

“When considering health and wellness platforms, with fitness apps in particular, we are looking at a market size that’s expected to reach approximately $15 billion in the next five years. We examined that growth potential and the opportunities that would bring and realized that scaling our platform into the wellness category is a no-brainer,” said Craig Finster, president and chief financial officer of Versus Systems.

Versus Systems has developed an in-game prizing and promotions engine that lets game publishers and developers inject in-game and in-app prizing across across mobile, PC games, consoles and streaming platforms. Brands naturally pay to place their products inside the games and gamers compete for the prizes.

In contrast, ePlay Digital creates and publishing mobile games with a specialty in sports, esports and entertainment augmented reality titles. Their flapship product is Big Shot Basketball and a mobile game collaboration with Howie Mandel.

“Our Versus partnership is perfectly timed as we add augmented reality and 3D fitness functionality, tracking and visualization to new and existing products and verticals, including new mobile and wearable apps specifically for fitness and wellness communities. ePlay’s fitness apps, such as our mobile games, gamify running, biking and exercise to motivate users and optimize their performance. Versus’ rewards system can help to keep these goal-oriented consumers of health and wellness apps even more engaged as they pursue exciting prizes,” said Trevor Doerksen, president and chief executive officer of ePlay Digital.
