Equitas Resources (EQT.V, Forum) didn’t start 2016 the way it wanted to. With drill results on their nickel play not blowing up like they’d hoped, the share price halved and early enthusiasts lost interest.
But behind the scenes, Equitas management had one eye on the horizon for unexpected opportunities – and found one, in the shape of a 184k hectare Brazilian gold project that has been producing on a small scale, and can quickly be scaled up at a very low cost.
Acting quickly, the company has, as of today, closed that acquisition and taken it to 100% ownership, completing the corporate transition from nickel explorer to gold producer.
On this episode of the Equity.Guru podcast, Chris Parry talks to Chris Harris, the new President, CEO and Director of the company, about going slow and steady – and responsibly – to build a low risk junior that could be a tasty M&A target as gold picks up steam.
