Planet Based Foods Global Inc. (PBF.C) announced today a new distribution partnership with US Foods Inc., a leading supplier of foodservice products throughout the United States (US). Planet Based Food’s latest news comes shortly after the Company announced an additional partnership with KeHE Distributors, one of the largest pure-play grocery and natural food distributors in North America.
“US Foods will be debuting the Planet Based Foods brand to their significant customer base…We are very excited to be working with one of America’s leading food distributors, and look forward to expanding our product reach through this evolving partnership,” said Planet Based Foods’ President and CEO Braelyn Davis.
To provide a brief summary of the Company, Planet Based Foods is a producer of sustainable plant-based meat substitutes. Nothing too out of the ordinary or unique, however, Planet Based Food utilizes hemp, one of the most sustainable and versatile crops in the world. Ultimately, the Company is on a mission to build a better food system focused on hemp-formulated superfood products.

Referring back to the Company’s latest news, Planet Based Foods has entered into a distribution partnership with US Foods Inc. US Foods represents one of America’s leading foodservice distributors and has partnered with approximately 300,000 restaurants and foodservice operators to date.
Furthermore, US Foods boasts more than 28,000 employees and has over 70 locations, providing its customers with a broad range of innovative food offerings and a comprehensive suite of eCommerce, technology, and business solutions. Some of the company’s highest-quality brands include Chef’s Line, Rykoff Sexton, Metro Deli, and Stock Yards, among others.
The Partnership
Under the distribution partnership, Planet Based Foods’ popular plant-based options will be initially distributed through US Foods’ two most important divisions, La Mirada and Corona. These two divisions are responsible for supplying a variety of products to restaurants and multi-unit operators situated in the business, industry, and healthcare sectors in Southern California.
With this in mind, both divisions will stock Planet Based Foods’ The Original Burger, Mild Breakfast Sausage Patties, and The Italian Sausage Crumble. Additionally, the Company’s Green Chili Southwest Burger and Hot Breakfast Sausage Patties will be available via special order. In particular, the Company’s The Original Burger is especially popular.
In addition to being non-GMO, soy-free, and gluten-free, The Original Burger is 100% vegan, contains Omega 3-6-9, is high in fiber, and boasts 21 grams of protein. That’s more protein than the Impossible™ Burger, one of the most popular plant-based burgers in the world. Lightly seasoned with garlic, onion, and smoked paprika, I am willing to bet it tastes better too.
Planet Based Foods, please send me some patties to try. Planet Based Foods’ collaboration with Stout Burgers & Beers is a testament to The Original Burger’s popularity. Since this collaboration, The Original Burger has quickly become the top-selling veggie burger, with over 800 burgers sold per month across Stout Burgers & Beers’ current locations. In the future, this number is expected to reach 1,200 once The Original Burger is made available at the chain’s two upcoming restaurant locations.
Planet Based Foods’ share price opened at $0.23 today, up from a previous close of $0.22. The Company’s shares were trading at $0.22 as of 1:01 PM EST.
