Blender Bites Limited (BITE.C) Is a Smoothie Criminal

Blender Bites Blends Into the North American Market

I am lazy. That being said, going to the gym a few times a week is the extent of my fitness routine. My dietary choices are questionable, my cooking skills are abysmal, and I can’t be bothered to go grocery shopping. As a result, whether it’s meal prepping or making a smoothie, you can bet your bottom dollar I won’t be doing either. Thankfully, there are frozen meals to compensate for my lack of motivation.

With this in mind, the frozen meals category experienced significant growth following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. To be more specific, the Global Frozen Food Market was valued at $167.34 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $224.2 billion in 2025, registering at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6%. Unsurprisingly, the frozen food market’s growth can be attributed to a growing number of consumers looking for quick, easy, and quality solutions with longer shelf life.

The pandemic has been a miserable experience for everyone, however, there is somewhat of a silver lining. According to the International Food and Information Council’s 2020 Food and Health Survey, 54% of all consumers cared more about the nutritional value of their food and beverage choices in 2020 than they did in 2010. More impressively, in 2019, 80% of Americans tried to limit their sugar intake.

That being the case, the Global Organic Food and Beverages Market is expected to grow from USD$255.2 billion in 2020, to USD$849.7 billion by 2028, expanding at a CAGR of 16.42%. Furthermore, in addition to wanting locally sourced and organic ingredients, 55% of Millennials, myself included, said that convenience is one of the most important factors when deciding what foods to buy. Amen.

With this in mind, the North American Smoothie Segment was worth USD$4.58 billion in 2021 and is expected to reach USD$6.28 billion by 2026. As you’d expect, this market is driven primarily by increasing demand for products that are both convenient and affordable, such as smoothies, juices, and frozen meals. Now, let’s talk about a company that has uniquely positioned itself in the smoothie market with an innovative portfolio of…smoothie pucks?

Blender Bites Limited.

“I truly believe our initial launch with GFS in Ontario, will result in additional GFS distribution agreements in other regions of Canada, and potentially within the US. This is a great first step into the Food Service industry which because of the pandemic is heavily relying on options that are quick, easy, and require the least amount of manpower as possible,” said Chelsie Hodge, the Company’s CEO and Founder.

Serving approximately 4 million customers in North America and generating CAD$17 billion in annual sales, GFS has secured a position as No. 18 on Forbes’ America’s Largest Private Companies 2021.
