Bee Vectoring Technologies (BEE.C) is a company that is familiar to my weekly agriculture and ag tech readers. In the past weeks, I have been following the technicals as we began testing a major support level. We got a nice reversal, but I will detail the chart at the end of this post. First, let’s talk a little about Bee Vectoring, because it is an amazing company, and I find it super unique!
Bee Vectoring Technologies International Inc (BVT) is an agriculture technology company, develops and provides natural commercial farming solutions including crop protection. Its solutions include the Hive and Bees, an inoculum dispenser system; Vectorpak with Vectorite, a recipe of ingredients that allows bees to carry crop BVT-CR7 and other beneficial fungi or bacteria in their outbound flights to the crops; active ingredients, such as BVT-CR7, an organic strain of a natural occurring endophytic fungus; and pollen distribution systems. The company’s patented bee vectoring technology uses commercially-reared bees to deliver targeted crop controls through the natural process of pollination. It provides natural pest and disease management solutions for various crops, such as strawberries, sunflowers, apples, tomatoes, canola crops, blueberries, and other crops.
A market disruptor within the $240 billion crop protection and fertilizer market, with a product/technology that replaces chemical pesticides and wasteful plant protection product spray applications by delivering biological pesticide alternatives to crops using commercially grown bees. Very innovative right?
Here is a short and well done video about the company and their technology:
BVT’s commercially reared bee’s (either bumble or honey) pick up the company’s Vectorite powder which is within Vectorpacks just before they leave the beehive. This powder poses no risks to the bees, to people, nor the environment and the process follows the principles of natural pollination. The bees deliver single or multiple materials at the same time to the flower. No water is used, meaning no spray applications, which also reduces the amount of active ingredients put out into the environment. A highly targeted delivery system that leaves fewer active ingredients drifting into water sources and unintended plants. It should also be noted that the BVT system can also be used for both pollination and disease and pest management.
As mentioned in the introduction, Bee Vectoring’s BVT-CR7 is an organic strain of a naturally occurring endophytic fungus. It is commonly found around the world, and grows harmlessly inside the plant tissue. It is not harmful to bees and humans alike, and after delivery, it dies out naturally within 24-48 hours if it is unable to find a suitable plant host. You can read about the active ingredients here. The Vectorhive system has been proven to control diseases and increase resistance in plants, enhances plant growth, and improves crop yield. All good things for farmers, and my readers know my take on crop yield and why it will be super important going forward. It is one of the reasons we are bullish on agriculture.
Major milestone news was released October 13th 2021. Bee Vectoring signed their first commercial industry partnership with BIOGARD, one of the leading bioprotectant company in Europe. Through the agreement, Bee Vectoring will have exclusive access to BIOGARD’s biological insecticide Beauveria bassiana ATCC 74040 for bee vectoring uses throughout the European Union and Switzerland, accelerating the company’s growth and market entry into Europe!
“This first commercial agreement with a partner in the EU represents a major step in BVT’s growth,” said Michael Collinson, Chairman of BVT. “It is the most significant global milestone for BVT since acquiring EPA registration in the US in 2019. The agreement will enable BVT to operate in the EU through the development and registration of a bee-vectoring product extension of an already-accepted biological active substance, rather than awaiting approval of a new active substance submission – a process that can take up to 3 years. It is also a clear indication that the industry has begun to recognize the value of our bee vectoring system as an effective way to deliver crop protection.”
“BVT is a true innovator in sustainable farming practices and natural pest control,” said Vittorio Veronelli, CEO of CBC (Europe) S.r.l.. “BVT and BIOGARD are perfectly aligned in our missions to drive sustainable farming practices, and BIOGARD’s microbiological insecticide will work well in bee vectoring. This is a win-win for the European marketplace.”
“This agreement represents two important firsts for BVT,” said Ashish Malik, CEO of BVT. “It propels BVT into the EU, allowing us to generate first revenue from this region and validate our technology with growers while we work to complete the registration process for the approval of CR-7. It is also our first product expansion by in-licensing a third-party biological product for use in BVT’s bee vectoring system. This deal validates that BVT technology can be used to deliver multiple biocontrol agents and extends our solution beyond disease control to now include insect control as well. This is an exciting opportunity for BVT to add value to growers worldwide, help them implement more sustainable practices – and increase BVT’s share of wallet.”
A big congrats to the team! Future catalysts will include more in-licensing agreements, continued commercialization in the US, global and product portfolio expansion.
Readers know I am a technical guy. I love cycles and ebb and flows. My market structure strategy is all about trend reversals. Over on my agriculture roundups, I have been stating the important support level Bee Vectoring was testing.
The major support was $0.235. We have popped 4 times there, and in my ag roundup, I suggested it as a good zone to enter. Take a look at the wick on October 4th, a major sign that buyers are defending that zone. A breakout above $0.31 was confirmed on the 20th of October, but today’s price action (October 21st) currently is showing a close back below. Not the best, but let’s see how the candle closes at the end of the day. Still a lot of time in the trading day. To the upside we have resistance at the $0.385 zone, and then previous record highs around $0.46.
Major support zones are where we like to see reversal patterns trigger, and yes folks, we have a cup and handle pattern.
The close today is really important, but I don’t think it is a deal breaker since this one has good technicals and fundamentals. My moving averages are also being tested, and we tend to bounce at them. Watching closely for buyers here. Going forward, that $0.235 zone remains the major line in the sand. If we break below that then we will wait for the stock to form some sort of basing.
Another positive is the volume of shares being traded. We have seen 6 figure shares traded volume days recently. What I like to see when price is near a support bottom, and when good news has been released.
In summary, the technicals and the fundamentals are lining up nicely on Bee Vectoring. This commercial partnership opens the door for more expansion and growth. It is a big step forward and in the right direction! This company is definitely one of my favorite agriculture and ag tech companies out there!
