Curaleaf Holdings (CURA.C) launched Nano Chews cannabis-infused candy in its retail locations across the Florida market today, according to a press release.
They’re a sugar free, fast-acting cannabis-infused candy, which the company states offers a reliable and consistent cannabis experience. The use nano-emulsion tech, offering 5 mg of THC per piece, and are infused with water soluble cannabinoids. Theoretically, the tech reduces the product’s onset time to half of that of a traditional edible, so anywhere between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on weight.
“This is the next step in delivering true innovation to the market. After receiving incredible feedback from patients in states where Nano Chews have already launched, we are confident that Floridians who’ve waited nearly four years for edibles will embrace a new kind of cannabis experience with Nano Chews,” said Joe Bayern, president of Curaleaf.
The company is banking that Nano Chews will appeal to patients in search of faster relieve than what traditional edibles offer. They come in two flavours for right now, Classic Chews and Arctic Berry, but they’re intending on pushing more flavours out in the future. Florida evidently has regulations against natural or artificial colour additives, so there aren’t any of those in the product.
Florida’s Department of Health officially authorized medical use of edibles in September. Before that, Curaleaf released a product line including Sublingual Tablets and Select Elite Live cartridges. Since then, they’ve put out Nano Drops and Live Blends in Florida, all of which correspond with certain patient preferences.
The Florida medical cannabis market is presently 430,000 strong and growing, and Curaleaf has 33 dispensaries in the state alone, with 955 dispensaries nationwide.
