Infused MFG, a subsidiary of 1933 Industries (TGIF.C), announced a sponsorship agreement with mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Sarah Moras earlier this week.
This accompanied the launch of their Action Sports Division for their Canna HempX sports recovery product line.
The logical next step for 1933 Industries–which they announced today–was to leverage that sponsorship to gain access to spaces where customers congregate, such as the world-class Xtreme Couture MMA gym and pro shop in Las Vegas, which is the biggest MMA city in the world.
Xtreme Couture MMA is famous for its stable of MMA fighters of all skill levels, and is therefore an ideal location to showcase Infused’s brand of Canna HempX sports recovery products.
“Xtreme Couture MMA was the obvious outlet for Canna HempX as it has become a favorite destination for people from all over the world who strive to achieve their fitness and sports goals. Xtreme Couture MMA is one of the biggest MMA gyms attracting athletes from all levels under one roof in one of the biggest fight meccas in the world,” Moras said.
These products are intended for the everyday person who trains in MMA, but their prospects extend far beyond aches from training.
While marquee fighters can pull down big multi-million dollar paydays and afford a host of surgeons, anesthesiologists and specialists for every ache and cut they endure in the cage, the average MMA enthusiast who trains twice a week isn’t likely to be so fortunate.
If that MMA enthusiast doesn’t tap in time to a heel hook, and feels the painless pop that signifies a tear in her ACL, MCL or both, she’s not only going to be away from training for a long time (if she ever gets back), but she’s going to be dealing with surgery and climbing a mountain of pain afterwards.
That probably means being prescribed something like a softer, more diluted opiate like Tramadol, if she’s lucky, and something in the range of the more powerful, heavily addictive Hydromorphone if she isn’t.
They both can go downhill fast, and in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past five years, we have something of an opioid epidemic in the West.

That’s why 1933’s partnership and entry into the pain-relief MMA market is not only smart business for Infused MFG, but also for MMA athletes in general. Any non-addictive, reasonably priced option that helps an injured competitor ease off of prescribed post-surgery opiates and get on track to full recovery wouldn’t just be lucrative, but socially responsible.

She should be.
