Sometimes a company just times their run right.
Over a weekend in which large numbers of Californians are queuing up at neighbourhood bodegas and gas stations to buy into the 10th largest Powerball lottery prize pool in state history, the tech boffins at Lottogopher (LOTO.C) have unleashed a state-wide promotion campaign in which they’ve offered folks signing up to their online ticket buying service a coupon code for a free Powerball ticket.
Folks who subscribe to their $12 per month ticket valet service, in which they can buy, check, and cash tickets online with no mark-up, can use the coupon ‘435’ and get a free shot at winning $435 million.
Sponsorship campaigns at the Anaheim Ducks NHL arena have helped to get the brand out far and wide, and ongoing media coverage hasn’t hurt things at all, but as that prize pool expands and the press pays more attention to it, the expectation is Lottogopher’s user numbers will elevate.
And if that’s not enough… there’s even a borderline Kardashian in the mix.
