Patriot One Technologies (PAT.V) preps for rapid growth with CFO appointment

Patriot One Technologies (PAT.V) set the stage for expanding its market footprint when the company announced today that it had appointed Michael Barnsley as Chief Financial Officer.

According to the news release, Barnsley, a 30-year tech industry veteran, holds a CPA and CA designation and has worked as CFO and Corporate Secretary for both TSX and TSX Venture-listed companies principally within the tech sector.

Barnsley has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia.

Company CEO and Director, Martin Cronin, commented on the appointment, “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Michael Malana for his services as Chief Financial Officer and wish him well in his future endeavours. Today, we welcome Michael Barnsley to the Patriot team and believe his extensive experience and understanding of what it takes to rapidly advance a new technology from development to commercialization is an immense asset to the Company. We are moving ahead at a pace that demands specific industry expertise and an understanding of the road ahead. Mr. Barnsley’s appointment is both timely and inspiring, and we look forward to working closely with him as we continue to move our emerging weapons detection solution forward into the marketplace.”

In other news, the company also announced that it had amended its fiscal year-end from May 31 to July 31 to align its financial cycle with that of its subsidiary.

Patriot One Technologies provides a world-leading technology called Cognitive Microwave Radar for the detection of concealed weapons.

It’s NForce CMR1000 is designed for cost effective installation in hallways and doorways and can covertly identify weapons, alerting security of an active threat entering the premises.

With single-operator terror-motivated attacks such as the horrific mass shooting at a Quebec City mosque at the end of January, law enforcement officials and civic leaders are calling for tighter security measures in sensitive areas, such as places of worship, schools, government buildings, abortion clinics, etc.

Patriot One’s technology fits in with this mandate, offering an effective, realistic, non-escalating alternative to the idiocy of indiscriminately arming the masses.
