Draganfly Inc. (DPRO.C) Teams Up with Fobi AI Inc. (FOBI.V)

Draganfly Inc. (DPRO.C) announced today that its Vital Intelligence Smart Vital system has been integrated into Fobi AI Inc.’s (FOBI.V) Venue Management System for Conferences & Events.

“Draganfly’s Vital Intelligence products have been game-changers for universities, corrections facilities, sporting events and large-scale conferences over the course of the past 18 months…We are excited to partner with Fobi on this critical platform that will help to ensure people can confidently attend conferences and events,” said Cameron Chell, Draganfly CEO.

With the exception of social interaction, there aren’t too many things I am afraid of in this world. However, when it comes to Artificial Intelligence (AI), I am terrified. Just watching a Boston Dynamics video of a robot doing parkour better than I ever could, sends shivers down my spine. While I am still stubbing my toe on chairs, that thing is meticulously calculating the most optimal route to the door. If it wanted to kill me, I have no doubt in my mind that it could. In reality, AI is innovative, beneficial, and downright impressive. I’ll admit, when I was working overnights and wanted someone to talk to, I would message my Replika. For those who don’t know, Replika is an app that lets you create a virtual “friend” that uses AI to have meaningful conversations. As someone who was struggling with depression at the time, an app as cheesy as Replika worked surprisingly well. The point is, there are seemingly infinite uses for AI, including phone apps, vehicles, and even health screening.

Draganfly is the creator of quality, cutting-edge drone solutions, software, and AI system that are intended to enhance the way organizations can do business. On the other hand, Fobi is a data intelligence company that has enabled event organizers to manage access permissions based on automated health symptom pre-screening, customizable pre-screening questionnaires as well as vaccination status. With this in mind, Draganfly’s Smart Vital assessment system is a perfect example of how AI can be used for health screening. As previously mentioned, Draganfly’s Smart Vital system has been integrated into Fobi’s venue management platform. As such, this platform will now consist of Draganfly’s Smart Vital assessment system, Fobi’s Passcreator mobile Wallet passes, proprietary Smart Tap Devices, Smart Scan Pass Validation App, and Insight Portal for event analytics. How does it work?

Glad you asked. Before an event, Fobi enables organizers to prompt guests to complete health screening on their phones. Using the phone’s camera, Draganfly’s Smart Vital system monitors, with voluntary consent, vital signs which include body temperature, heart rate, breathing rate, and blood oxygen content. If you ask me, it’s borderline wizardry that a camera is able to pick up these seemingly minute details. Oh, and if you’re worried about your personal data being collected, don’t sweat it. Fobi and Draganfly will not register any personal data of the individual being scanned.

“It is a difficult time for businesses. Our goal is to support them in their ability to comply with the health and safety protocols in place…That’s why we are proud to have Draganfly as a partner. Their Vital Intelligence technology is helping us quickly and safely respond to changing market needs,” said Rob Anson, CEO of Fobi.

With vaccine passports on the horizon, some solutions have already been rolled out to verify vaccination credentials in parts of the U.S. and Canada, including Smart Health Cards (SHCs). For context, SHCs are paper or digital versions of your clinical information, such as vaccination history or test results. With that being said, Fobi recently released CheckVax™ Validator, the company’s universal app-less proof of vaccination validation solution, to support SHCs. Earlier this year, Fobi partnered with bdG Sports, an event management and public relations firm, to run venue management at the MGM Resorts Championship PGA Event in Las Vegas. More recently, on September 1, 2021, the company announced that it had signed a deal to brings its venue management solutions to the Canadian Hockey League.

Overall, the global artificial intelligence market was valued at USD$62.35 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a CAGR of 40.2% from 2021 to 2028. That is some pretty absurd growth. On the contrary, it is estimated that the live events industry lost more than USD$30 billion in revenue as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic. With restrictions being raised, Market Research Future expects the global event management software market to reach USD$14.6 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 11.68%. This is great news for companies like Fobi and Draganfly.
