Reliq Health Technologies (RHT.V) unveils app for medical cannabis use

The boom in the medical cannabis sector has taken another step. Reliq Health Technologies Inc. (RHT.V) has developed what it calls “a novel mobile application” to support patients who have been prescribed medical marijuana.

The company’s iUGO app is the latest advance in collaborative care, where patients become active managers of their own health along with caregivers and medical personnel in a unified effort.

“As part of our commitment to high-quality patient care in the home, Reliq Health is proud to be launching a mobile application that will help medical marijuana consumers track their usage and record their symptoms,” Dr. Lisa Crossley, CEO of Reliq Health Technologies, said in a news release.

“Studies consistently show that providing patients with the tools they need for self-management of their health conditions produces better health outcomes and reduces healthcare costs. Cannabis is prescribed to treat a wide range of conditions including arthritis, glaucoma, side effects from chemotherapy, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis and post-traumatic stress disorder.”

One of the most vocal criticisms of medical marijuana usage is a lack of studies which show effective outcomes. So in addition to monitoring and engagement, tools such as the one developed by Reliq could provide some of the data needed for corroboration.

“Our app allows patients to track cannabis usage and record symptoms specific to their clinical condition, allowing patients and their care providers to determine optimum strain, dosing and mode of https://e4njohordzs.exactdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/tnw8sVO3j-2.pngistration,” Crossley said. “Our platform improves access to care by connecting patients with physicians in their community who have experience with medical marijuana, and supports physician-approved automated prescription refills through participating producers.”

Reliq Health is a technology company focused on developing innovative mobile health and telemedicine solutions for community-based healthcare. Reliq intends to market the app to medical cannabis companies in Canada and other jurisdictions where cannabis can be legally prescribed.

Personal disclosure: I have a prescription for medical cannabis from my doctor, but I do not own stock in any companies in the sector.
