Gage Growth (GAGE.C) enters exclusive partnership with Khalifa Kush in Michigan

Gage Growth (GAGE.C) announced their exclusive partnership agreement with multi-platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated artist Wiz Khalifa.

Through the partnership, Gage and Wiz will develop and launch a line of premium cannabis products in the state of Michigan. The products will branded as Khalifa Kush, or “KK” which Wiz was smart to get on early, before Mia Khalifa launched her own Khalifa Kush.

The initial term of the license is five years on an exclusive basis.

The arrangement includes a grant of license to certain intellectual property to produce and sell KK branded products in Michigan, and is subject to Michigan regulatory approval. Khalifa Kush will consult on cultivation, distribution, branding, consumer engagement and other operating responsibilities.

“Wiz is a globally-recognized cannabis connoisseur. KK has had incredible success in other U.S. cannabis markets, establishing a brand that is synonymous with ultra-premium quality,” said Fabian Monaco, CEO of Gage. “We are confident that this partnership will allow Michigan to become a unique cannabis destination in the near future.”

As part of the agreement, Gage and KK will work to develop and commercialize a product lineup that includes flower, pre-rolls, extracts, and concentrates that will be sold at Gage provisioning centers. I must admit, I am deeply disappointed there are no Rolling Papers branded rolling papers, but alas. The deal makes Gage the exclusive producer, processor and retailer of KK branded products in Michigan.

As we’ve all known from the start, Wiz Khalifa isn’t just about the Black and Yellow, he’s also about the green. Wiz says he developed the KK strain back in the early 10’s back, and specifically tailored the strain for his personal tastes. Eventually he “chose to share KK with the world” in 2014. Word on the street is the kush is Young, Wild, & unfortunately not Free, but you will be able to buy it in Michigan soon.

Khalifa Kush has almost exclusively 5-star ratings on Leafly is generally well-liked. KK is marketed as a strain having “a relaxing but energizing effect” (a description which seems oxymoronic). It has a THC concentration of  ~29%, making it a potent strain.

“We are excited to partner with Gage for our first expansion into the Midwest, and to finally release KK to my fans in Michigan,” said Wiz Khalifa. “From day one of Khalifa Kush, we have only partnered with people we align with, who focus on customer and quality over everything, and Gage is one of the best.”

Following the news, Gage’s share price is up 1 cent and is currently trading at $2.48.
