Draganfly (DFLY.C) gets VTOL patent, and doubles since November

Draganfly (DFLY.C) received a patent for a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) delivery drone with a variable centre of gravity today, according to a press release.

“With the signing of a signature customer and now this key industry patent we are confident in our role as an important global player in drone delivery space. This showcases Draganfly’s continued focus on IP and highlights the strength and innovation of our engineering team,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly.

The design of this aircraft is intended for use in beyond visual line of sight flying, and for transporting goods in areas that are hard to reach or require flying over people at night. The patent involves an unmanned aircraft system with both VTOL and fixed-wing flight operations.

In other news, Draganfly has been chosen by Coldchain Technology Services to develop flight services for a robust vaccine delivery system for the COVID-19 vaccine. Coldchain provides helathcare supply chain management solutions for both private and public sector clients, including the US Army, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Johnson & Johnson, the Chicago Department of Public Health and has been involved in the deployment of the vaccine throughout the United States.

Draganfly has doubled since late November, having leapt from $0.40 to where they sit today at $0.84.
