YDX Innovation (YDX.V) prepares for battle with new esports team, Parabellum

YDX Innovation (YDX.V) launched Parabellum Esports (PBLM), Canada’s newest e-sports team, today, according to a press release.

Together with the announced merger with Amuka Esports, the company will be in possession of a complete esports ecosystem including venues, leagues, tournaments, media and with the addition of Parabellum, a competitive teams division. This puts the company in the unique position of being able to offer advertising options to major brands across all the verticals in the esports industry.

“Parabellum is a strategic move for the YDX Esports Division and our future post-merger with Amuka Esports. We want to pave a solid road for players that want to go from amateur to professional gaming and provide several services and products to help them along the way. We are creating an ecosystem that benefits from the training algorithms of Purple Mage, the content creation from Render, the merchandising expertise for Organized Gaming and now the academy and professional gaming that will be led by Parabellum. We could not be more excited about this merger with Amuka and all the potential that 2021 brings. All the pieces are in place now and YDX is ready for our next phase of evolution,” said Daniel Japiassu, CEO of YDX Innovation.

PBLM is a rebrand after their previous acquisition of SxD Esports, but they’ll continue using the name to sell merchandise until 2021 due to the high demand. Chris Lamarucciola and Justin Corlevic will act in capacity as the company’s president and general manager, respectively. PBLM has also committed themselves to being the first esports team to embrace gender parity and boast having at least 40% of their competitive and content teams represented by women.

PBLM has also started signing talent to their player and content creator rosters, including Toronto Argonaut’s receiver Juwan ‘Jboogie’ Brescacin.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Parabellum team and continuing to create content and engage my fans and supports,” said Brescacin.
