Draganfly’s (DFLY.C) Vital Intelligence API offers real time health monitoring

Draganfly (DFLY.C) launched the Draganfly Vital Intelligence API (application programming interface) for use with telehealth applications earlier this week, according to a press release.

The API gives telehealth applications the ability to use Vital Intelligence, which will allow applications to measure heart rate, respiratory rate and spO2, or oxygen saturation. The vital intelligence tech supports kiosks, drones, robots, hand-held devices like tablets and phones, and other computing scenarios. Deployment time can be as little as a week.

“The API captures our experience about how a system like this can be used. It was designed to allow third party software to gain access to the capabilities of our range of vital signs solutions. This screening and monitoring technology can now be integrated rapidly in this dynamic environment,” said Professor Javaan Chahl, Defense Science and Technology Chair at the University of South Australia and Draganfly’s chief scientist for the project.

The full name of the technology is the Vital Intelligence Smart Thermal and Vital Assessment Station and Social Distancing Awareness, and it provides a contactless and anonymous measurement of body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate from a camera. The paltform doesn’t record any personal data.

“Our new API integration is a true innovation accelerator for the telehealth industry. By enabling our technology via an API integration, telehealth organizations will be able to add an additional layer of testing to their own technology eliminating developer time and increasing product innovation. In addition, the time and cost savings will enable customers to quickly adopt our technology with their existing applications which will extend their ecosystem of customers,” said Cameron Chell, CEO of Draganfly.

The new API also handles two existing problems that many development teams regularly field, such as that the integrator doesn’t need to work with thermal cameras, signal processing or screening processes. Draganfly’s system is completely automated. The web based API can be used by all common operating systems and development environments, and the API offers best in class workflows, security and reporting using an interface that can be white-labelled and built into any technology stack.
