A look back at Patriot One Technologies’ (PAT.T) most recent hits

Patriot One (PAT.T) has been making moves lately, so here’s an update on everything of note the company has done in recent months in case you haven’t been paying attention.

The company is offering a high-tech security solution in the age of spree shootings and lone wolves: Patriot One’s tech aims to scan potential baddies and alert authorities of any concealed weapons before they’re even drawn.

As a refresher, here is a recent video from Patriot One showing off just one piece of their threat detection tech, the PATSCAN CMR.

With that, let’s dive in.

Partnership with Johnson Controls

In mid-August, Patriot One announced a partnership Johnson Controls (JCI.NYSE), a USD$33.3B company, provides services like building automation and fire suppression technology for buildings of all stripes.

Equity.guru‘s own Lukas Kane covered the deal when it was first announced:

On August 15, 2019 PAT announced an “integration partnership” with Johnson Controls International (JCI.NYSE).

Johnson Controls is a global tech company with 120,000 employees working in 150 countries, create intelligent buildings, efficient energy solutions, integrated infrastructure and next-generation transportation systems.

PAT’s technology “will become part of overall security system deployment projects with Johnson Controls’ key clients, including sports franchises and a global transportation client.”

But Patriot One isn’t just offering its PATSCAN CMR technology. The partnership with Johnson Controls is for the company’s Multi-Sensor Covert Threat Detection Platform, which includes:

  1. The PATSCAN CMR;
  2. PATSCAN VRS video threat recognition software;
  3. PATSCAN STS multi-chemical threat detection sensor, and;
  4. The integration of these technologies through a digital management system.

“Deploying Patriot One’s platform with our security solutions and technologies will effectively enable us to deliver a layer of protection to increase the safety and peace of mind of our clients and the customers who visit their campuses and sports venues.”

–Kit Bishop, strategic growth manager with JCI

Good luck smuggling a truck full of fertilizer into a sporting arena with the freakin’ Terminator watching you. Wouldn’t recommend it.

‘Wait, we’re doing chemicals now?’

If PAT’s chemical weapon detection technology is new to you, here’s some background to fill you in:

Patriot One’s JV with Nano-Bio Detection Systems has been crucial to getting the technology where it is today.

Based in Wyoming, Nano-Bio holds licensed technology from the University of Texas which is designed to detect airborne molecules, including those from explosive compounds.

 As its initial contribution for a 50% interest in the JV, Nano-Bio has granted the JV a license to develop and commercialize the technology for applications relating to defense, security, prohibited substance detection and law enforcement.

Highlights of Nano-Bio’s technology include:

  • Covert functionality in non-invasive deployments and the ability to sample remotely via IoT-enabled hardware.
  • Can be a stand-alone solution or integrated with other threat detection systems.
  • Has both military and civilian applications.
  • Has detection capabilities with a parts-per-trillion sensitivity, enabling the identification of explosives, chemical warfare agents, volatile organics, nerve agents and even narcotics.

And in July, Patriot One formed a partnership with XTRACT Technologies, a tech company developing artificial intelligence, and would eventually go on to acquire the company in early September.

Examining even one of XTRACT’s offerings offers insight into why the two companies have such a synergy.

XTRACT’s technology is completely in-line with PAT’s threat-detection technology. Since the PATSCAN CMR detects weapon outlines beneath clothing, adding AI to the mix is a no-brainer.

Smart City and Bleutech Park

Bleutech Park is a concept-city to be built in Las Vegas. Kitted-out with self-healing concrete, solar panels and Patriot One’s threat detection technology, Bleutech is to be a model for the cities of the future.

The six-year, $7.5B project, will be contain net-zero buildings, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and supertrees.

It’s the culmination of PAT’s years-long mission to provide security “without creating a fortress,” and soon they’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate their tech’s efficacy at scale.

Did we mention that Martin Cronin, PAT’s CEO, met with members of the U.S. House and Senate in April?

According to Cronin, “all individuals we met with appreciated the PATSCAN CMR technology, and the ability to integrate with existing security systems.  They are all eager to learn more as we move to full commercial launch of the PATSCAN CMR.”

Look, the U.S. has a gun problem and that isn’t likely to change anytime soon in a country with more guns than people.

Gun control legislation has been a non-starter so far, and ensuring Second Amendment protections are one of the last few things Republican legislators can offer their constituency.

So maybe a tech solution is the way to go. Maybe the old adage of ‘it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun’ needs revamping. Maybe the good guys need a little more help.

That’s where Patriot One comes in.
